Senior Clinical Project Manager

Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Clinical Project Manager to oversee and manage complex clinical projects and implementations, in support of telehealth, home health, and leveraging digital health capabilities to improve access to care and care delivery. The position will involve leading cross-functional teams and coordinating activities to develop, deploy, and support the adoption of clinical technologies and solutions across a large healthcare organization. The projects will focus on incorporating virtual health technology to support clinical workflows, patient care delivery, and healthcare process improvements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical project management and implementation, with a deep understanding of healthcare workflows, patient care processes, and healthcare technologies.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Clinical Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in providing clinical-focused project management, planning, and technical support to our enterprise healthcare customer. Your primary focus will be on clinical projects and implementations that enhance patient care delivery, improve healthcare workflows, and drive advancements in efficiency through the application of technology.

  • Manage multiple complex clinical projects simultaneously, encompassing strategic initiatives, technology development, customization, product integration, equipment acquisition, and deployment.
  • Collaborate closely with clients and stakeholders to define project goals and objectives, with a strong emphasis on clinical outcomes and patient-centric care.
  • Lead the formulation of mid to long-term technical plans that align with clinical goals, ensuring that multiple and diverse objectives are met successfully.
  • Identify clinical opportunities for technical applications, working with corporate executives and government decision-makers to develop robust implementation plans.
  • Manage and oversee the implementation of clinical projects, ensuring that they are executed effectively and in alignment with clinical best practices.
  • Foster collaboration and effective communication among cross-functional teams, including clinicians, IT professionals, and stakeholders, to ensure seamless integration of technology into clinical workflows.
  • Regularly assess project progress, address challenges proactively, and provide timely updates to executive leadership and relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement change management strategies tailored to the clinical environment to facilitate successful adoption of technology solutions among healthcare professionals.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to integrate clinical technologies into the enterprise ecosystem, including healthcare facilities and data centers.
  • Oversee project scheduling, strategic planning, and executive-level reporting to track progress and ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Identify and address barriers, risks, and issues proactively. Develop mitigation plans in collaboration with stakeholders, customers, and vendors throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Utilize effective project management methodologies to ensure smooth and successful project execution.
  • Facilitate and manage meetings with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, customers, and other relevant parties.
  • Conduct process improvement and workflow assessments to integrate technology effectively into healthcare processes.
  • Develop and implement change management activities to support the successful adoption of clinical technologies, including telehealth equipment, digital health tools, and other virtual health capabilities.
  • Provide technical, contractual, and administrative support to junior project managers.
  • Interface with various stakeholders, including healthcare professionals and government agencies, to ensure project success.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Master's degree and 4 or more years of relevant experience OR Bachelor's degree and 12 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in clinical project management and implementation, either in a government, commercial, non-profit, or academic setting.
  • Experience with either developing, implementing, or managing clinical transformation projects, clinical programs, clinical products and technologies or deploying them within a healthcare system or patient homes (home health).
  • Experience with home health, telehealth, or digital health programs.
  • Demonstrated responsibility and accountability for clinical programs, clinical product portfolios, or for clinical tool development, integration, or deployment projects.
  • Understanding of healthcare workflows, patient care delivery, and integration of technology in clinical settings.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders
  • Experience in risk management and developing effective mitigation plans.

Desired Qualifications and Skills

  • Current RN licensure and maintained throughout employment.
  • In-depth understanding of the clinician's perspective and experience in integrating technology or devices into care delivery workflows.
  • Familiarity with the challenges and considerations involved in effectively integrating technology or devices within clinical settings.
  • Ability to engage and collaborate with healthcare professionals to gather feedback, address concerns, and ensure seamless integration of technology or devices into existing workflows.
  • Knowledge of best practices and industry standards for incorporating technology or devices into patient care.
  • Experience working closely with clinicians and healthcare providers to design and implement solutions that improve the quality and efficiency of care delivery.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport and establish credibility with clinical stakeholders, gaining their support and buy-in for program implementation initiatives.
  • Understanding of virtual health support and operational models.
  • Familiarity with the challenges and preferences of end users when adopting new technology or devices, such as patients, healthcare professionals, and support staff.
  • Experience in assessing end user needs and preferences to tailor implementation and support strategies accordingly.
  • Ability to collaborate with technical teams and vendors to address end user challenges and preferences in the design and deployment of healthcare technology and/or telehealth equipment.
  • Experience working with government healthcare organizations is a plus, specifically direct experience with program, project management, or digital development.

Other Information:

This is a full-time position with typical business hours for team members based out of/reside in North Carolina, South Carolina, or Virginia. The work will be done remotely from NC, SC, or VA. The position may require some travel to medical facilities across the country. will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States. This is not a position for which sponsorship will be provided.
